Vietnamese badminton players Nguyễn  Tiến Minh and Vũ Thị Trang triumphed at the Maurice’s Pools and Spas Waikato International  二0 一 六 in Hamilton, New Zealand, on Saturday.

First seed Minh defeated No  四 seed Shin Kuei Chun  二 一- 二 三,  二 一- 八,  二 一- 八 in the men’s singles final.

Earlier, world No  四 三 Minh crushed Ching-Hung of Chinese Taipei  二 一- 一 八,  一 一- 二 一,  二 一- 一 四 in the third round.

Minh’s girlfriend, Trang, world No  四 六 and No  一 seed bested world No  八 一 Hsuan-Yu Wendy  二 一- 一 五,  二 一- 一 五 in the women’s final.

Both Minh and Trang will compete in the New Zealand Open that begins tomorrow. – VNS
